Apostle NKURUNZIZA François

The role of a master is to make disciples. Jesus Christ, the Master of masters came to make those who would believe in Him disciples. The only way to understanding the mystery of the Kingdom of God is through discipleship.

Luke 14: 25-33; “…If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple… So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple”

To be a disciple you first need to come to Him, you can’t be a disciple of Jesus Christ by distance or online, as it is the case for many of this century. Moreover, even in the Church many are not ready to surrender all to Him and thus are not qualified as disciples of Christ even though they claim to belong to Him.

The disciples of Jesus Christ accepted to endure the threats of the former Roman Empire, even to death just to submit themselves to their Lord and His Word, they have never accepted to live in compromise but went through unimaginable sufferings to glorify their Master.

And indeed, that is what Jesus Christ means by being His disciples. Accepted disciples of Jesus do not live for their interests or their honour but for their Lord and His honour. They have nothing for themselves but everything of theirs belongs to the Master and they are ready to lose everything for His name.

Luke 14: 27; “And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple”

Bearing your cross is not the problems you face in this life, sickness or other troubles in life but bearing your cross is whatever you have sacrificed or suffered for the sake of obeying your Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ came on earth to reveal the Kingdom of God and to belong to that Kingdom one has to be a disciple and to be His disciple there are conditions that first have to entirely be met; otherwise, forget about the Kingdom of God.
